Hi, I’m Sarah Cameron, I am the founder of Pencil alongside my husband Bill. I am a self confessed nerd, early childhood educator and lover of all things to do with early childhood development. I am curious about modern discoveries in child development, and as I get older, I’m starting to appreciate the impact of government policies on our industry. I’ll review the latest children’s books for you and find new resources to use in the classroom or home.
I have worked for many years in the early childhood industry spending so much time focused on keeping on top of what I was doing, rather than finding out why, reflecting on and implementing what I had learnt. There were so many topics that popped up that I wanted to research, however not enough time.
Insert maternity leave...
I now make time to Google, to write, and to enjoy researching topics which I still think about and impact on the way I approach teaching.
Why am I writing this blog?
Lucky for you, I’m a sharer. The information I find, I will post on our Facebook page for you to enjoy. My aim for each blog is to give you a bite sized piece of information which is relevant and helpful for all educators and parents in the early childhood sector. Some of it you will be able to apply straight after reading it, other articles, you may go away thinking about it and share it with colleagues and friends, using the information down the track.
How often will I get to read this marvellous blog?
I will post an article at the beginning of each week. Grab a coffee and take some time to sit and enjoy the read.
Why should you read this blog
Do you have piles of early childhood journals with good intentions of someday reading through them? It never happens does it? This blog will provide you with weekly doses of the latest information to keep up to date and relevant in the early childhood industry.
Thank you for your support, I hope it will grow and be a great resource for you all.
